800-CEO-READ Announces First Annual Business Book Awards

By Guest Contributors - Oct 29 , 2007
Milwaukee…800-CEO-READ, one of the leading national book suppliers and business resource providers, is conducting their first annual Business Book Awards which aims to recognize the best titles and authors of 2007. As the sister business book company to Milwaukee’s Harry W. Schwartz Bookshops, 8CR has become well-known not only as a top business book distributor, but also for providing insightful editorial content such as blogs, author manifestos, and book reviews.
8CR’s Founder and President Jack Covert says the book awards offer a great opportunity to review and distinguish the top titles of the year. “For the past 23 years, we’ve been the only bookseller in the country focused exclusively on the business audience. This experience has put us in the unique position to highlight the best of the genre,” says Covert.
With an abundance of business titles available to readers each year, Vice President Todd Sattersten says 8CR’s book awards hope to act as a guide for readers as they search for the best content. “This awards program is a natural extension of our work to not only sell books, but also provide discernment for the business reader in a category where over 6000 titles are published annually,” says Sattersten.
Both Covert and Sattersten have been continually turned to by publications such as Newsweek, BusinessWeek, and Bloomberg News over the past year to comment and offer insight on various business ideas and trends. Among offering blogs, podcasts, and author manifestos, 8CR’s website highlights top selling books as well as a section titled Jack Covert Selects in which Covert reviews his personal top picks.
8CR encourages any author with a business book published in 2007 to participate in the first annual Business Book Awards. All received titles will be reviewed by various team members to ultimately determine the best of the year.
