What’s new on USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books List
McLEAN, VA, September 23, 2009 — Here’s the latest book buzz from USA TODAY with a highlight of tomorrow’s Best-Selling Books list:
• Big draws in stores: Booksellers reaped a sales bonanza last week thanks to the release of several highly-anticipated titles including Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol and Sen. Edward M. Kennedy’s True Compass. They are No. 1 and No. 2 on USA Today’s Best-Selling Books list. Other new releases including Jon Krakauer’s Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman and the new Oprah Book Club pick, Say You’re One of Them by Uwem Akpan, also did well.
• Boynton, B.B. and Blues: Sandra Boynton, the cartoonist/songwriter says, with a straight face, that the vision for her latest children’s book, One Shoe Blues, involves “loss and redemption and sock puppets.” Boynton, who’s designed more than 4,000 greeting cards and written and illustrated more than 40 kids’ books, wrote, designed and directed a music video starring B.B. King that’s packaged with her book, to be released by Workman Friday.
