Predicting the Future, Setting Your Priorities

BTCAnthony

I want to share a video.  And I’ve got a challenge for you.

I want you to  watch it twice. I know, I know. You’re busy, I’m busy. It’s a lot to ask. Just know that I wouldn’t ask it if I didn’t think it was going to affect you in a profound way.

The first time you watch the video, just watch it and enjoy.  Draw your own conclusions. Now watch it again:

On this second go-round I want you to watch the presentation with a new set of eyeballs.

This time I want you to take notes, look for something you might have missed and, most important, get into a different mindset so you can see the bigger picture of where our society is now and where it is going.

If on the first watch you thought to yourself, “Wow, technology has come a long way; I wonder where it is going next?” That is a good thought, though probably not the most powerful nugget you can extract from the presentation.

If after the first time you watched the video you began brainstorming about technology and ways you could create your own big-dollar equation, good for you! You should be inspired. But this still isn’t the point of why I’m sharing the video with you.

If during your first viewing, you didn’t really like the speaker or were bored by his style, just get over it. Don’t let the medium, or the messenger, hamper the diamonds you can mine from what he says here.

If on the first watch you thought, “This is cool, but how do I use this?” then just stand by, because in my next post I am going to give you a few actions you can take that will have a genuine impact on your goals and your business.

So here is the question I want you to ponder as you watch “Design Outside the Box”:

“What do I really need to know about society in order to excel and compete in this new world?”

Now watch the video again.

Done? Now stand by.

Tomorrow, I am going to give you some principles, and few concrete actions that you can take immediately to increase customer satisfaction, to be relevant, and to succeed in the new civic society.

Want to take a guess as to what might be the answer to that question?  Leave a comment. We’d love to hear what you think.

The "reality" factor of games certainly ties right in to the civic mindset we're in. I just got a small video camera and I'm starting "real life counselling" blips on my website. No make no script just real down to earth stuff. Maybe I'll give out points for people to watch it and bonus points if they come up with their real life experience!
