Bob Hughes

Robert J. Hughes was a staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal for over a decade, specializing in culture reporting. He was the paper’s theater reporter, writing on publishing, the art and auction markets, television, music, film, and philanthropy, and he reviewed books. He also helped broaden the Journal’s online content with a popular series of video interviews with authors, politicians, and actors. He is the author of the novel, Late and Soon, and his story, “A Visit to St. Nick’s,” appeared in the acclaimed short-story collection Bronx Noir and was a finalist for Best American Mystery Stories 2008, edited by George Pelecanos. Hughes is at work on another novel, The REctory, as well as a family memoir, and continues to work in arts journalism.
