Kim Dushinski

BTCKimLG.jpgKim Dushinski, a partner of MarketAbility and founder of HowToMarketMyBook.com, has been in the book industry since 1996. As a managing owner of MarketAbility, she oversaw countless publicity campaigns, taught hundreds of authors and publishers how to effectively market their books, and orchestrated all of the firm’s own marketing.

In 1998, Kim and her business partner, Tami DePalma, created MAXIMUM EXPOSURE – a step-by-step book marketing system that was a pioneer in the industry. At the time, only a few folks were actively teaching publishers (much less authors) how to market their books. No one had a huge three-ring notebook and weekly teleconference. Back then, we had to tell people what a teleconference was, it was so new.

Over the years of doing book publicity, Kim’s clients were featured on The Today Show, The Jenny Jones Show, and Live with Regis; in USA Today, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Ladies Home Journal, Woman’s World, Guideposts, Entrepreneur, and Publishers Weekly. In 2006, MarketAbility transitioned from book publicity to book marketing consulting, and HowToMarketMyBook.com was born.
